Thirty30 trial a success at Ballymena LTC
Updated: Nov 26, 2019

Ballymena LTC successfully trialled the Thirty30 tennis scoring method yesterday by organising mens and ladies doubles competitions.
A full report of the event is included on their Facebook page.
Extracts from the report by Barry Clarke, Head Coach at Ballymena LTC, are:
It was a terrific day and all matches were great fun, while ultimately being very tense. Each match was completed in approximately 20 minutes and the players applauded the format.
Many commented on how they felt more tense playing the format, and this helped them to bring out their best. They had to deal with pressurised situations which they ultimately face in every match, but much quicker.
After the first point you were either facing a break point or had a game point.
Everyone had to be at their best from the very beginning! This format helps the players get match tough.
We also got to play a lot more players due to the quick nature of the game, allowing us to play against a variety of styles in one session.
It was a very fun format and certainly very beneficial for club tournaments which are being held on the one day.
Thirty30 Tennis Comment
Many thanks Barry for your time and efforts organising this event.
Congratulations to the two winning doubles pairs.
I am delighted that the Thirty30 scoring method worked out as I had hoped and that you all had a fun time.
