Thirty30 Tennis - Elite Tennis Journal - Dave Miley Article
Updated: Nov 26, 2019

Dave Miley, former International Tennis Federation (ITF) Director of Development has recently contributed to the Elite Tennis Journal site (www.elitetennis.org) a series of essays under the heading:
‘The State of The Game - Putting a Big TEN into TENNIS!’,
which focuses on the state of the game at various levels and points of interest touching on tennis at amateur, professional, national and club level, on tennis fans and industry insiders.
The series of articles shares his 10 proposals that he believes can make a difference in tennis from the high performance / professional to the recreational player playing at club level.
Proposal ‘7: User Friendly Play and Competition should drive the sport’ is of particular interest - the 30-30 (“Thirty30”) tennis scoring method is endorsed as a new scoring format ‘suitable for players playing with little time or to facilitate multi match formats, mixed with social, in a set time period.’
The proposal is shown below and the link to the article is:

Dave adds: “I realize that some of these TEN ideas might surprise people working in clubs, associations and federations and those involved in international tennis. All I ask is that the readers keep an open mind to what I am proposing. I certainly welcome constructive feedback to what I have put forward.”
Since trialling of Thirty30 was launched all over the world at the end of December 2017 it has been receiving very encouraging feedback (now 110+) and this can be found on the page link below:
