Stowmarket Lawn Tennis Club Tournament uses the quick-fire shorter faster-paced Thirty30+ format

Stowmarket Lawn Tennis Club in Suffolk, UK are the latest club to use the shorter faster paced Thirty30 scoring method for a tournament.
On Easter Monday 36 players (18 couples) competed in the Club’s first Thirty30+ tournament organised by Ben Smith (Head Coach).
Playing 5 sets of doubles each, a total of 45 “one-set to 6 games (sudden-death on deuce #2) with a 9 point tie-break at 6-6” matches were played using 3 round robin groups of 6 couples on 5 courts from 9am-12pm.
Ben Smith (Head Coach):
“The longest match was in the first round - maybe 25-30 minutes, one or two as quick as 10-15 minutes.
I think we had 8 tie break sets and a few of those went to 4-4 sudden death which was fun for everyone on and off court.”
The three winning couples were treated to fabulous Pizza made by the Club’s very own Paolo and his amazing new business @reggia.pizza
Feedback:
“Members want more! Loved it; made them realise which are the important points and how they can see / feel the pressure more.”
